Divine Divas “With A Little Help From My Friends” will be presented on the 2nd Street Stage in the Hannah Block Historic USO/ Community Arts Center on Friday\, February 22 and Saturday\, February 23\, 2019. Both shows begin at 7:30 p.m.\n\n\n\nThe concerts will feature twenty well known male and female performers from the local theatre community with a special appearance from young stars of the TACT Youth Theatre program. A live auction will be offered at each performance featuring a four-legged furry friend\, fabulous jewelry\, and more. DESCRIPTION:Our 5th Annual She ROCKS Luncheon was held November 1\, 2018\, at the Wilmington Convention Center. Brittany Fountain\, daughter of She ROCKS co-founder Beth Quinn\, was the keynote speaker. GYN oncologist Vicki Bae-Jump\, MD\, PhD and researcher Shawn Hingtgen\, PhD\, also spoke\, giving encouraging reports on the future of ovarian cancer treatment. Nearly 600 people attended the luncheon\, raising more than $120\,000 for ovarian cancer research and support for people fighting all types of cancer. SUMMARY:4th Annual Cut-A-Thon
DESCRIPTION:The 4th annual She ROCKS Cut-a-Thon was held on September 8\, 2018\, from 9:00 am until 4:00 pm at 1051 Salon and Spa in Wilmington\, NC. Over the past four years\, the full day of fun\, raffles\, beauty and games has raised more than $47\,000 to support She ROCKS’s mission. \nThe non-profit raises money for local women who are fighting Ovarian Cancer and half of the money goes to women at the Zimmerman Cancer Center\, to provide for their various needs. For example\, She Rocks buy gas cards for people who cannot afford to go back and forth for treatment\, wigs\, water tumblers and gifted 18 new Chemo Infusion Chairs last year to the Zimmerman Center. The other half of the money goes to Chapel Hill\, NC at Lineberger to be used in research to help find a cure and to aid in programs to discover early diagnosis. \nWe will be selling raffle tickets to win gift baskets filled with top of the line skincare products\, haircare products and a assortment of goodies from several other local businesses here in Wilmington. \nWe will be offering the following services: \n\nFacials\nTeal Hair Extensions\nMassages\nManicures\nHaircuts & Color\n\n  \n1051 Salon and Spa\n910-256-1111 \nPlease spread the word for next year and come check out our local vendors! The show was directed by Mike Thompson with music direction by Denice Hopper. \n\nA silent auction was offered at each performance with fabulous items including\, restaurant and hotel packages\, jewelry\, yacht parties\, health & beauty packages and 2D and 3D artwork.
