WILMINGTON, N.C. (WECT) - After not being able to hold its annual fundraising luncheon the last two years due to the COVID-19 pandemic, She ROCKS will host the event April 14.

The luncheon will take place at the Wilmington Convention Center starting at 11:30 a.m.

She ROCKS stands for “Research Ovarian Cancer Knowledge Support.”

Along with a seated a meal, the event will include a vocal performance from the Divine Divas and an “inspiring program dedicated to supporting women living with ovarian cancer, as well as honoring those who have passed away from the disease.”

Dr. Victoria Bae-Jump also will present an update on the ovarian cancer research her team is conducting in the Beth Quinn Lab at UNC’s Lineberger Comprehensive Cancer Center in Chapel Hill.

The event is open to the public and there is no set cost to attend.

“Our goal is to raise $1,250 per table of 10, so $125 per person is a suggested donation,” said Kasey Stone, President of the She ROCKS Board of Directors. “However, participants will give more or less as they are able or desire. We want people to attend and participate at any level that is comfortable for them.”

To reserve a seat at the luncheon, contact Madison Welsh at madiwelsh95@gmail.com.
